DanTanna's
(Nightlife - Sports Bar)
3400 Around Lenox Dr Ste 304, Atlanta  30326 • 404-760-8873
Distance: ~811 ft *
Description: BUCKHEAD. Stop in on a March afternoon, and you'll likely find this establishment across from Lenox Square packed with suits captivated by NCAA Tourney broadcasts. DanTanna's is a "sports restaurant" – a sophisticated gathering place that isn't dressed with neon signs and team pennants. Instead, dozens of flat-screen TVs hang from the clubby, dark-stained walls. The bar area includes attractive open-air patio, and the adjoining cigar bar gives Buckhead aficionados a place where they can puff freely. That said, if you're on business and looking for a classy place to catch the "big game," DanTanna's is a good call. Great surf and turf options, too.

Description: BUCKHEAD. Experience something completely unexpected at Dante's. Inside the large building, a replica 18th-century ship, complete with rigging, rests in a reservoir of water (inhabited by live crocodiles!). Thirteen levels accommodate diners, who indulge in cheese or meat fondue while admiring antique fittings and furnishings around them. Visitors to the ship can enjoy soothing live jazz six nights a week, and a vocalist performs Mondays. A great wine list is an added perk. Guests are permitted to come for the music without having dinner. Reservations for dinner or drinks recommended.

McDuff's Irish Pub
(Nightlife - Pub)
56 E Andrews Dr, Atlanta  30305 • 404-816-8008
Distance: ~0.78 mi *
Description: BUCKHEAD. In need of a pint of Guinness but don't want to wait in line at Buckhead's more trafficked joints? Do yourself a solid and head to this homey Irish-style pub, where rugby and (real) football are usually on the tube and pints are served the way they should be. Boasting the look and feel of a neighborhood fave, McDuff's is Atlanta's sole Irish-owned pub, and it's not a rarity to find the same folks sitting in the same seats for nights at a time. Sharpen up your aim before you challenge regulars in a game of darts, since cricket is second only to beer at this pub.

NB Cover charges apply only to Upstairs.

Distance: ~0.85 mi *
Description: BUCKHEAD. Fabulous city views coupled with incredible steaks make this revered place a perpetual favorite with the expense-account crew. Although it's best known for its upscale dining, Capital Grille also sports a busy after-work scene, when city movers and shakers mill about the bar, finishing up business and entertaining clients. Martinis are a signature, and they're perfectly mixed and served. Great wines are also available, along with food service. Since the socializing doesn't go on incredibly late, it's possible to meet-and-greet and have time for a late dinner afterwards in the dining room.

Inside, you'll find quintessential dark-wood bar areas and plenty of "pub" ambiance, though the place does tend to get packed quickly after the sun goes down. A stone patio towards the rear is a favorite hangout, no matter the season, and a few bar areas make getting a long, dark quaff a little easier. Fadó features live music on Monday nights – dancing is always encouraged – as well as special events to celebrate soccer (football!) matches. To mark your visit to this Buckhead favorite, be sure to stop by the gift shop and pick up a few things Irish.
