I purchased an armoire at Metropolitan Deluxe several years ago and it was damaged when it arrived and I was told that they would send someone to repair it. Many attempts were made by us but we could not get them to respond. My father-in-law eventually did his best to repair it. Then as they say "time heals all wounds" my husband and I strolled through there again recently. I saw a bookcase/buffet table marked down stating that it was "your last chance - floor model" with its original price and sales price on it. I asked them to hold it for me while I took some measurements at home. I called them that same day and made arrangements to pick it up. My husband confirmed the pick-up time and all was well until they called him and told him that the price was going to be several hundred dollars more than they originally told us it was going to be. They had made a mistake and that was that. They would agree to take a modest % off for their mistake. They told me that the price that was on there was for a coffee table. I recently bought that same table at Crate and Barrel for their full price and it was considerably cheaper than Metropolitan's floor model's sale price. Lesson learned - they are considerably overpriced, use the bait and switch sales method, and they do not warrant or stand by the merchandise they sell. The store is really cute and definitely appealing but stay away or you maybe sorry!
